Inputs on the topics should stress the current state of knowledge and techniques with respect to the point of view of the conservation and enhancement of the historical, architectural, urban, environmental and landscape heritage. The main purpose is to highlight the issues of conservation, restoration and reuse of historical buildings, monumental centers and landscape from the following points of view:

1) Criteria and methods of intervention in times of crisis. The conservation of the Heritage may be subjected to potential natural and human risks. The purpose is to share different perspectives, methodologies and practices that could respond to situations of "crisis" and ensure appropriate preservation of our Heritage.

2) Technologies and operational methodologies for preservation. The purpose is to assess different knowledge and best current practices and methods of consolidation and structural reconstruction in order to evaluate all the aspects linked to the compatibility of structural and architectural intervention, the energy balance and the fundamental values of the existing building Heritage.

3) Life in buildings and historical cities. New ideas and concepts of compatibility of use are essential to promote and ensure the conservation and reuse of the architectural Heritage and urban development in historic town centers, within the framework of the contemporary urban context.

4) New considerations for the use and enhancement of monuments. It is necessary to reconsider the use of many of our monuments, fallen into a crisis due to an excess or shortage of tourist flows. Nowadays, it seems to be important to review the compatibility of some applications on our heritage and their relevant functions.

5) The fruition of the heritage: cultural routes and landscape. Landscapes and historical centres are constituted by an amount of values and heterogeneous elements that make complex systems: towns, roads, routes, environments... All of these elements must be documented and protected to maintain the full value of our heritage in all its extension, both physical and cultural.
